    2. Customers will not be allowed to fly as Pilot in Command without holding a current appropriate type rating or having completed a 28 day check.
    3. All customers must comply with the requirements of the Operations Manual and the relevant Pilot's Operating Handbook.
    4. Prices are subject to change without notice and E&OE.
    5. If a booking has to be cancelled by Flying Time then Flying Time will not refund any additional expenses incurred by the customer in connection with the booking.

If you are still unsatisfied with the response to your complaint then the matter will be referred to the Managing Director or the Finance Director.
  2. Air Experience Flights

    1. Air experience flight vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of purchase. The voucher holder should make a booking for the flight within the voucher validity period.
    2. If the flight is not booked within the validity period then the voucher validity may be extended, at the discretion of Flying Time, for an extra month at a cost of £10.
    3. The voucher holder should telephone 01273 455177 on the day of the flight to ensure that weather conditions are suitable before travelling to the airport. Flying Time will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by the voucher holder or accompanying persons if a flight cannot take place.
    4. If a flight cannot take place because of poor weather or aircraft unavailability then another booking will be made within four weeks of the original booking. If this booking date is outside the validity period then there will be no extra charge.
    5. The voucher entitles the voucher holder to an air experience for the amount of time stated on the voucher. This time includes taxiing to the take-off position, the duration of the flight and taxiing back to the parking bay after landing. The time spent on the pre-flight briefing is additional to the flight time and is not deducted from the flight time.
    6. An additional person may be accommodated in the back of the aircraft subject to aircraft type booked and weight of the person. Flying Time has the final decision on whether an extra person can be carried. If carrying of an extra person is an important part of the experience then this must be stated at time of booking so that a suitable aircraft can be booked.
    7. Flights may take place in any of our aircraft.
    8. A booking may be cancelled by the voucher holder provided that 48 hours notice is given. If a booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice then a cancellation fee of £30 may be charged. The cancellation fee may be waived, at our discretion, depending on the circumstances of the cancellation.
    9. Vouchers may be exchanged for a higher value voucher, at any time within the validity period of the original voucher, on payment of the additional amount.
    10. Vouchers may be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase. After this date, and until one month before expiry, provided a booking has not been made, vouchers will be refunded but will be subject to an administration charge of 10% of the value of the voucher. Vouchers cannot be refunded within one month of expiry.
  3. Air Experience Flight Vouchers Issued by Other Companies

    1. The voucher holder must book the flight within the voucher validity period.
    2. The voucher holder should telephone 01273 455177 on the day of the flight to ensure that weather conditions are suitable before travelling to the airport. Flying Time will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by the voucher holder or accompanying persons if a flight cannot take place.
    3. If a flight cannot take place because of poor weather or aircraft unavailability then another booking will be made within the voucher validity period, subject to aircraft availability.
    5. An additional person may be accommodated in the back of the aircraft subject to the appropriate voucher having been purchased, aircraft type booked and weight of the person. Flying Time has the final decision on whether an extra person can be carried.
    6. Flights may take place in any of our aircraft.
    7. A booking may be cancelled by the voucher holder provided that 48 hours notice is given. If a booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice then a cancellation fee of £30 may be charged. The cancellation fee may be waived, at our discretion, depending on the circumstances of the cancellation.
  4. PPL, Additional Approvals and Advanced Training

    1. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they meet the requirements of the course, particularly with regard to medical fitness. Flying Time will not refund any expenses incurred by the student prior to ensuring that all requirements are met.
    2. If the student's usual aircraft is unavailable, and another aircraft has been provided but declined, Flying Time will not refund any expenses incurred if the student chooses to wait for the usual aircraft.
    3. Any advance payments made may be subject to any price increases for any reason.
    4. If, for any reason, Flying Time is unable to provide a course after a booking and payment have been made, then a full refund will be made. Flying Time will not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred by the student in preparation for the course.
    5. If a student decides not to commence a course, having made a booking and paid the full amount, or a first payment, then a refund will be made but an administration charge of 10% of the amount paid will be deducted from the refund amount together with any banking or credit card fees paid by Flying Time.
    6. If a student leaves before completing a course for which they have deposited monies then the balance remaining will be returned to the student but an administration charge of 10% of the balance will be deducted together with any banking or credit card fees paid by Flying Time.
    7. When a price is quoted for a course package this price must be paid even if the student completes the course in fewer hours than those included in the package. If, however, the student requires additional hours to those included in the package, to complete the course, then these hours and any additional fees and charges will be charged at the normal rates.
    8. Flying Time will always endeavour to ensure that a student can complete their course  in the normal timescale for the course. However, Flying Time cannot be held responsible for delays to the training schedule caused by unsuitable weather conditions or unexpected aircraft maintenance requirements and will not refund any extra expenses incurred by the student as a result of these delays.
    9. Where a course culminates in a test carried out by a CAA examiner, Flying Time cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by the availability of the CAA examiner and will not refund any extra expenses incurred by the student as a result of these delays.
  5. Hourbuilding

    1. The programme fee must be paid in advance before any bookings can be made. If the programme is up to 50 hours then the full fee must be paid in advance. If the programme is over 50 hours then the fee can be paid in two instalments but the first instalment must be paid in advance.
    2. Hourbuilders are required to open an account with a minimum of £1000 payment for aircraft hire and additional fees. The cost of each flight will then be deducted from the account. In the case of Avgas aircraft, the hire cost will be taken from the account but the hourbuilder is responsible for direct payment of fuel and the additional fees. Additional payments can be made to the account at any time. Once the account balance reduces to £100 then a further payment will be requested and bookings may be refused until a payment is received.
    3. Hire of diesel aircraft is subject to a maximum of two slots per week and restricted to the following times: Morning 08:00 - 10:30; Evening 16:30 - 19:00 (winter) and 17:30 - 20:00 (summer). If there is availability then bookings may be made for other times from 6pm the previous day. There are no restrictions on the hire of Avgas aircraft.
    4. Bookings for hourbuilding are made on the condition that Flying Time can rearrange or cancel a booking if an aircraft is needed for another purpose.
  6. Self Fly Hire

    1. The hirer is responsible for their rating being current. If not current, the hirer is liable for any financial penalties incurred by Flying Time and will not be covered by Flying Time's insurance.
    2. Flying Time has the right to insist, without explanation, on a requirement for a check flight.
    3. Flying Time can request a deposit be paid at any time between the booking being made and the aircraft keys being given to the hirer. If the hirer refuses to pay a deposit then the booking may be cancelled.
    4. The hirer must ensure that all legal documents are correct and the appropriate weight and balance calculations have been performed before the flight and that the technical log is completed at the end of the flight.
    5. The hirer is responsible for the aircraft during the booking period and is liable for any losses from the aircraft, if left unlocked, and any damage whatsoever caused to the aircraft.
    6. The hirer is responsible for all aerodrome and navigation fees.
    7. Flying Time can insist the hirer returns the aircraft at any time and the hirer will only be charged for the actual time used.
    8. Flying Time has the right to claim from the hirer for any damages incurred during the hire period, including loss of revenue if the aircraft is rendered unavailable for further hire.
    9. The hirer is responsible for locking the aircraft and ensuring it is tied down, if necessary, at the end of the hire period.
    10. If the booked aircraft should become unavailable, for any reason, and a suitable alternative aircraft is unavailable, then the booking will be cancelled and Flying Time will accept no responsibility for any additional expenses incurred by the hirer.
